The 300 PPI E Ink display is gorgeous, the writing experience is excellent, and handwriting-to-text conversion makes digital notes actually useful. At $399, it's more than a Kindle but less than an iPad — and for its specific purpose of focused reading and writing, nothing beats it.

I review dozens of academic papers weekly. The Scribe 2's PDF annotation with handwriting-to-text has cut my workflow in half. Split-screen reading while taking notes is perfect for research. The 300 PPI display is sharp enough for small text in PDFs.
I use the Scribe 2 for drafting novel chapters longhand. The writing feel is excellent — the textured screen and pen feel like quality paper. Handwriting-to-text is accurate enough for first drafts. I wish the notebook organization was better and it had waterproofing.
The thinner design, better pen, and handwriting-to-text are significant upgrades. Reading is as good as any Kindle. Writing is improved but still not quite Remarkable level for PDF workflows. For an all-in-one reader/notebook, it's the best option.
